We do not design for exposure. We design for presence.
At LSJ Regal, modesty is not a restriction. It is a design philosophy. It is the belief that a woman does not need to bare skin to command a room — that covered can be the most powerful thing she wears.
Every piece LSJ Regal creates — across every collection, past and future — is designed with this conviction at its centre. Our modesty policy exists to make that conviction clear — to every client, every customisation request, and every creative decision we make as a brand.
This is who we are. It is not negotiable and it is not an apology.
WHY MODESTY IS CENTRAL TO LSJ REGAL
The LSJ Queen does not walk into a room hoping to be noticed. She walks in knowing she will be remembered. That quiet authority — the kind that does not need to perform, expose, or demand attention — is what LSJ Regal dresses for.
Modesty at LSJ Regal means elegance that does not expose. Silhouettes that honour the body rather than commodify it. Fabrics and cuts that make a woman feel covered, protected, and completely herself — and in that completeness, completely powerful.
This philosophy runs through every collection we have ever created and every collection we will create. It is not specific to a season or a range. It is who LSJ Regal is. It is not a policy we enforce reluctantly. It is a value we hold with conviction.
THE LSJ REGAL MODESTY STANDARD
The following outlines what LSJ Regal designs, produces, and accepts in customisation requests. These standards apply to every piece across every LSJ Regal collection and to all bespoke or customised orders without exception.
Hemlines
PERMITTED — Hemlines at or below the knee — midi, maxi, and floor-length silhouettes.
NOT PERMITTED — Above-the-knee hemlines of any kind, including mini skirts, short dresses, and thigh-length cuts. This applies to all pieces and all customisation requests without exception.
Necklines
PERMITTED — Modest necklines — crew neck, boat neck, cowl neck, high neck, and structured necklines that sit above the chest.
NOT PERMITTED — Necklines that expose cleavage, deep V-cuts, plunging necklines, or any design that exposes the chest area. No customisation request to lower or open a neckline will be accepted.
Sleeves
PERMITTED — Sleeveless and all sleeve lengths — cap sleeve, short sleeve, three-quarter, and full-length sleeves are all within the LSJ Regal standard.
NOT PERMITTED — No specific sleeve restrictions beyond the neckline and back standards below.
Back
PERMITTED — Fully covered backs and backs with modest detail — subtle cutouts above the natural waist line at the designer's discretion.
NOT PERMITTED — Open backs, backless designs, or any construction that leaves the full back exposed. Customisation requests to open or lower the back of a piece will not be accepted.
Midriff
PERMITTED — Where LSJ Regal produces crop-top or shorter-bodice designs, these are intentional and designed specifically to be worn with high-waisted skirts and trousers from the collection, creating a covered, coordinated silhouette.
Any crop or shorter-bodice piece from LSJ Regal is designed as a pairing piece. LSJ Regal recommends and endorses such pieces only when worn with high-waisted bottoms from the collection. When styled as a complete look, the midriff is framed rather than exposed.
Sheerness and Transparency
PERMITTED — Sheer or semi-transparent fabrics where an inner lining or inner wear is included with the piece. All LSJ Regal pieces featuring sheer elements come with appropriate lining or inner wear as part of the design.
NOT PERMITTED — Sheer fabric without lining or inner wear coverage. LSJ Regal does not produce or customise pieces that are sheer without providing full modesty coverage underneath.
Fit and Silhouette
LSJ Regal does not produce body-con or extremely tight-fitting silhouettes. Our pieces are designed to skim and flatter — structured where structure serves the design, fluid where movement serves the woman. We do not accept customisation requests for significantly tighter cuts than the original design.
MODESTY AND CUSTOMISATION
Every customisation request received by LSJ Regal is reviewed against this modesty policy before it is accepted. We welcome conversations about colour and length. We do not accept requests that ask us to compromise on modesty.
We will decline: Any request to raise a hemline above the knee, lower or open a neckline, remove or open the back of a piece, or remove the lining or inner wear from a sheer design.
We will accept: Colour customisations, length adjustments within the below-the-knee standard, and minor structural adjustments that do not conflict with our modesty values.
When we decline a customisation request on modesty grounds, we do so with respect and honesty. We will always explain why and, where possible, suggest an alternative that serves the client's needs within our values.
LSJ Regal reserves the right to decline any order or customisation request that conflicts with this modesty policy, regardless of how the request is framed or presented.
A NOTE TO THE LSJ QUEEN
Covered is not less. Covered is the whole point.
If you are drawn to LSJ Regal, it is because something in you already understands this. You know that the most powerful woman in a room is not always the most exposed one. You know that elegance has its own authority — quiet, certain, unshakeable.
LSJ Regal was built for you. Every silhouette across every collection; every hemline, every neckline, every fabric choice was made with the conviction that you deserve to feel completely yourself — dignified, radiant, and fully covered in clothes that honour who you are.
Our modesty policy is not a limitation on what we can do for you. It is the very thing that makes what we do for you extraordinary.
