We do not make clothes carelessly. We do not wear them carelessly either.
The most sustainable garment is the one made well enough to be worn forever.
The fashion industry is one of the most polluting in the world. Overproduction. Waste. Garments made to be discarded. Trends manufactured to last a season so you will buy again next month.
LSJ Regal was built in direct opposition to that logic. Not because sustainability was a marketing decision. Because making things carelessly has never been who we are.
Every choice we make — how we make, who makes it, how much we make, and how long it lasts — is a sustainability decision. We want to be honest with you about what those choices are and why we make them.
THE PROBLEM WE ARE WORKING AGAINST

(Image Gotten from https://holebuttoncover.com/blogs/the-hole-story/raising-awareness-nbsp-of-clothing-poverty?utm_source=Pinterest&utm_medium=organic)
Global fashion produces an estimated 92 million tonnes of textile waste every year. Most of it comes from a simple equation — brands make more than people buy, and what is left is destroyed or dumped.
Fast fashion has trained an entire generation to see clothes as disposable. To buy something, wear it once, and move on. To treat fabric — which required land, water, labour, and time to produce — as something worth less than the price of a meal.
We do not believe that. We have never believed that. And LSJ Regal was built as our answer to it.

OUR ANSWER — MADE TO ORDER

We do not make a single piece that does not already have a home.
Made to order is the foundation of LSJ Regal's sustainability commitment — not because we planned it as an environmental strategy, but because making things for specific people was always the only way that made sense to us.
When you place your order, we begin. Not before. Not speculatively. Not in bulk to sit in a warehouse waiting for a buyer who may never come. Your piece is made because you ordered it — for your body, your measurements, your moment.
Zero unsold stock. Zero overproduction. Zero pieces made and never worn.
In an industry built on excess, made to order is a radical act. We think it should simply be normal.
ROOTED IN LAGOS — THE POWER OF LOCAL
Every LSJ Regal piece is made in Lagos. By Nigerian craftspeople. In Nigerian workrooms. With skills that have been honed over years and passed between generations.
Local production is a sustainability decision in the most direct sense — shorter supply chains mean less transportation, less carbon, less of the invisible environmental cost that comes from shipping fabric across continents before it becomes a garment.
But local production is also a cultural decision. The Nigerian fashion industry is one of the most vibrant and skilled in Africa. When LSJ Regal produces locally, we are not just reducing emissions. We are investing in the craftspeople who make our work possible. We are keeping the skill, the value, and the economic benefit of what we do in the community it comes from.
This is sustainability as it should be — not just about the planet, but about the people on it.
SLOW FASHION — DESIGNED TO OUTLAST A SEASON

We do not design for a trend. We design for a woman. And a woman does not expire in three months.
LSJ Regal does not release collections to chase what is trending. We release collections when we have something to say, when a season of life has produced something worth translating into fabric and form.
This means our pieces are not designed to feel outdated by next year. The Amy Straight-Cut Skirt, the Ori BouBou Dress, the Lady LSJ, these silhouettes were chosen because they are enduring. Because a woman should be able to reach for them in five years and still feel exactly right.
A piece that lasts is a piece that does not need to be replaced. That is the most sustainable garment we know how to make.
REPAIR — BECAUSE CARING IS NOT OPTIONAL
When an LSJ Regal piece needs attention, we believe the right response is to fix it, not to replace it. Our repair service exists for exactly this reason.
A loose seam is not a reason to retire a piece. A worn closure is not the end of a garment's life. These are the natural signs of a piece that has been worn — fully, properly, the way it was made to be worn — and they deserve to be addressed with the same care that went into making the piece in the first place.
Every repair we carry out is a garment that stays in use. Every garment that stays in use is one that does not need to be manufactured again. The mathematics of repair are simple. The commitment to it is a choice.

PRELOVED BY LSJ — FASHION WITH A SECOND LIFE
The most sustainable thing a garment can do after its first life is begin a second one.
Preloved by LSJ is our authenticated resell programme — a curated space where LSJ Regal pieces that have been loved by one woman find their way to the next. Every piece is authenticated by our team, photographed, and listed to the same standard as a new piece.
For the woman selling, it is a return on an investment and a responsible way to part with a piece she no longer wears. For the woman buying, it is access to an authenticated LSJ Regal piece at a considered price. For the planet, it is one less garment manufactured and one more in active circulation.
The preloved economy is not a compromise. It is fashion at its most honest — acknowledging that a well-made piece has value beyond its first wearing, and building systems that honour that value.

We are a young brand. Our sustainability journey is not complete, it is ongoing. We will continue to evaluate how we source, how we package, and how we operate as we grow. And we will be honest with you about every step of that journey.
We are driven by a deep commitment to sustainability. We believe that fashion should not only make you look good but also make you feel good about the impact it has on the planet. Our sustainability manifesto is a living document that outlines our strategies, principles, and goals in the pursuit of a more responsible and regal fashion industry.

Sustainable Design Strategies:
- Material Selection/ Sourcing: We prioritise sustainable fabrics including locally sourced,
- Ethical Production: We work closely with indigenous artisans who are paid adequate wages, ensuring they have safe and healthy working conditions.
- Zero-Waste Design: We strive to minimize waste by creating patterns that maximize the use of fabric, reducing scraps.
- Longevity and Timelessness: Our designs are crafted for enduring style, with a focus on pieces that stand the test of time rather than following fleeting trends.
Incorporating Circular Economy System
- Made to Order: Each piece is made to order as we aim to reduce the waste generated by fast fashion and overproduction of fashion pieces. This is to contribute in the reduction of pollution caused by the industry.
- Repair and Recycle: We actively encourage our customers to repair and recycle their LSJREGAL pieces. We provide resources for repairs and accept old items to recycle or upcycle into new creations.
- Bi-Annual Collections: Our bi-annual collection release is designed to reduce overproduction. We produce Spring/Summer collections annually, and Holiday Edits (F/W) to fit the West African Holiday and Summer clocks. We carefully plan our collections to align with real demand, preventing excess inventory and waste.
- Transparency: We are transparent about our production processes and materials, so customers can make informed choices and understand the sustainable value of their LSJREGAL purchases.
- Reducing Fashion Waste: Our approach discourages impulsive buying and promotes thoughtful purchasing. We believe that fashion should be an investment in quality, not a disposable commodity.
Packaging
In order to reduce the amount of plastic waste produced by the industry, as we are well aware that 1/5 million tons of plastic waste is produced globally as a result of single use packaging,
Biodegradable packaging: LSJREGAL has adapted the use of Paper bags and cardboard boxes, which are highly biodegradable and may be reused and repurposed effectively. This packaging type may be paid for at checkout.

NB: Cardboard boxes may incur extra shipping charges as the weight will be calculated by the volume ; L x B x H of the box.
Up-cycleable Packaging: Fabric drawstring bags have also been adapted, made from good quality satin and cotton, of which is inherently cheaper than the above listed and may be repurposed to store jewelry, shoes or any accessories to keep them away from dust.
A FINAL WORD
Fashion is how I speak when language is not enough. The planet deserves to hear that conversation continue.
I am not a sustainability expert. I am a designer who believes that the way we make things matters as much as what we make.
Drawbacks and Loopholes: As committed as we are to sustainability, we acknowledge that there are challenges on this journey:
- Costs and Affordability: Sustainable materials and ethical production can be costlier, making it challenging to maintain competitive pricing.
- Consumer Education: We understand that educating consumers about the importance of sustainability and the value of sustainable fashion can be a hurdle.
- Environmental Impact of Shipping: The carbon footprint associated with shipping products to customers globally is a concern we are actively addressing.
Despite these challenges, we remain resolute in our mission to provide elegant, sustainable fashion that empowers you to wear your values. We constantly strive to improve and innovate, working towards a more regal, responsible, and sustainable future.
LSJ Regal was built on the idea that clothes should feel like something. That they should carry meaning, honour the body wearing them, and last long enough to become part of a woman's story rather than just her wardrobe.
That idea, making with meaning, making to last, making for a specific person rather than a speculative market — is sustainability. Not as a label. As a practice.
We are moving to the ends of the earth. We intend to move there in a way that leaves it better than we found it.
Thank you for joining us on this journey.
Together, we can rewrite the rules of fashion and create a world where style meets responsibility.
